Rain Ready Frog | August 2024

Earlier this year, I was getting bored of just teaching art techniques. A student asked me how to draw a frog and I didn't know how so I just did my best from how I remembered frogs looking. I started having a lot of fun and we began to think of ways we could make our frogs unique. I decided to go with a rain themed frog and I had fun making it messy and colorful. This style was out of my comfort zone but I fell in love with it. I've drawn probably hundreds of frogs like it now and they are my favorite thing to make! What this artwork means to me is that there is always something to create. Even when you are bored or out of inspiration. There is always a reason to create and above all, to have fun with it!

Mushroom Frog | August 2024

This artwork is really special to me. I love to experiment with different materials to put my art on. I'll doodle on dirty cars or windows, restaurant napkins are a canvas to me, and sidewalks are meant to be decorated with chalk! I managed to get at least 30 pounds of wood pieces to make into art. And my very first doodle was this frog here. And when one of my students saw it, they were inspired to create their own wood art piece. So to me this frog is both fun and a reminder that the art I create doesn't only effect me, but others around me. It gave me a new perspective on my creativity!
